I am 47 years old, married with four beautiful children. I am currently an A-level and GCSE Biology Team leader/Examiner for a leading exam board and also examine Biology and Physics iGCSE.
I love science and really enjoy helping students develop their understanding of it. I am happy to tutor any age group and have experience teaching (and tutoring) from Year 6 all the way to Year 13. Whether you need help preparing for exams or are struggling in lower years, I can help you get back on track and improve your confidence in the subject. I am also very happy to tutor Maths up to GCSE level and have been doing so for the past few years.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching all three sciences at KS3/GCSE and Biology at A-level since 2002. I am currently an A-level Team leader/examiner for Biology. I have held this role with the exam board for the past 17 years. I also examine iGCSE Physics and Biology and GCSE Biology. I am currently a Head of Science at a local school.
I have experience of teaching a range of students, from Oxbridge candidates to students with Special education needs.

Tutoring Approach

I am an enthusiastic teacher with a passion for developing others as well as myself. I am friendly, but assertive and will expect the best from you. I will use a variety of diagnostic tests to determine your strengths and weaknesses and tailor your sessions to meet your needs. I have excellent subject knowledge and a wealth of resources to get you back on track. I believe good exam technique is vital to success and use past paper as a basis of the sessions. Being an examiner, I can help you drill down into the questions so that you gain a greater insight into what is expected of you. I will also help and support you with regards your approach to studying and revision to ensure that you are using your time effectively. Whether you need regular sessions or a few hours intensive help, I am sure I can help you raise your grade.
Over the past few years I have become more specialized at tutoring students online. This is very effective and has the benefit of being much more convenient for busy families.
