Home Tuition for Music in Bristol

I am an experienced and patient teacher. Every lesson is personalised to suit each pupil's playing level and musical tastes to help them achieve their individual goals.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for over a decade in a range of scenarios.

I got my first teaching experience working a placement at Kirklees Music School in Huddersfield when I was finishing my University degree. This had me working in group and one-on-one scenarios, covering a range of styles, abilities and age groups.
Since then I have been teaching privately to all age groups (ages 6 to adult) and my playing styles include but are not limited to:
Rock
Pop
Blues
Classical
Funk
Metal
Ska
Country

I now specialise in one on one lessons where I set out personalised progression plans to help each pupil achieve their musical goals.

Tutoring Approach

I started learning the electric guitar at age 12 after seeing the music video for 'Can't Stop' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I have been playing in bands for more than half of my life and this has given me the ability to create a relaxed and supportive atmosphere for my pupils.
Through my lessons you will develop:
-An enhanced technical ability
-A deeper understanding of your own musicality
-A developed sense of rhythm
-A working knowledge on caring for your instrument
-A greater level of confidence

My instrumental lessons can help you in the following areas:
-Improvisation
-Timing and Groove
-Finger Picking
-Hybrid Picking
-Playing from Memory
-Soloing
-Understanding the role that your instrument plays as part of a band / ensemble
