I am an experienced tutor, looking to take on students across German, French, Classics, and secondary school entrance exams (including, but not limited to SATs).

I hold a Master's degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge. I also hold a First Class Hons BA in Classics from Durham University. Soon after graduating from secondary school, I was awarded the President's Medal for achieving the highest national result in Irish Leaving Certificate (A Level equivalent) Classical Studies.

I received a H1 grade (A* equivalent) in German in the Irish Leaving Certificate (A Level equivalent). While studying for my Master's degree at Cambridge, I took a university-run course in academic German, where I refreshed and expanded my skills.

I received a H1 grade (A* equivalent) in French in the Irish Leaving Certificate (A level equivalent). Since then, I've managed to successfully navigate my way around Paris without getting perdue, blessée, ou déportée!

Tutoring Experience

I have 18 months experience A level students in German.
In addition, I have 18 months professional experience working in Public Relations - where I have proved myself to be a reliable worker.

Tutoring Approach

For students, I will combine general subject learning with exam question practice, to help them feel comfortable with both the subject itself and the requirements of the exam. Learning the information is half the battle (arguable the fun half). The other half is understanding how to use that information to maximise marks.

For adult and casual learners, we can take more time to study the subjects themselves. For classical studies, we can explore various disciplines such as literature, history, philosophy, the Latin language, and/or art history - depending on your preferences. For French and German, we will read a wide variety of texts in these languages, along with practicing conversation and written composition.
