Hi! I'm Spencer, an experienced physics and maths tutor, who graduated cum laude in physics and maths from Harvard University. I currently teach maths to undergraduates at Sussex University, in addition to online tutoring.

Tutoring Experience

Teaching Experience Summary:
- Maths Tutor at Sussex University for 2 years (2022-2024)
- Started as teaching assistant age 16-17 for GCSE science classes and from 18-19 I taught my own class of 3 GCSE Further Maths every week for a year.
- Online Tutor for 6 years, teaching both individuals and groups from the UK, US, Russia, Kazakhstan, UAE, Norway and Germany.
- I've taught in-person primary, secondary school and university students from UK and US, including GCSE, A-levels, SAT, Oxford and Cambridge University Admissions Exams.
- Coached many students to A grades in GCSE and A-Level physics and maths and perfect scores on the US SAT.
- Co-taught a week long admissions workshop for students applying to US universities, including maths, physics, chemistry and English tuition.
- 3000+ hours 1-to-1 tuition experience, ~400 hours group teaching experience.

Tutoring Approach

How I Teach:
- I focus on teaching maths and physics by first principle. For example, why an equation is defined the way it is. This encourages understanding of the material, reduces the need for memorization and leads to better problem solving skills.
- I also encourage students to send me topics/questions they struggle with in advance, so I can prepare specific examples/materials for classes.
