Stephen is an incredible, tutor who makes our lessons, both fun, enjoyable, educational and academic. Stephen is incredible, at filling in the gaps and the struggles I have faced with Politics due to not having access to the internet at home enabling me to keep up to date with politics. Stephen’s lessons are interesting and enriching. Stephen has helped me through with his vast knowledge, class notes for ever topic, which all have synoptic links and exam materials. As well as his ability to nurture ,and help me with my writing style and technique - I had a tendency of going down rabbit holes and losing my argument. Stephen is a wonderful teacher who has made all material accessible to me and has never treated me differently for having a disability. Stephen was impeccable with assisting and advising me with my politics revision in order for me to achieve higher grades. Stephen’s expertise were fundamental to me as a first generation university student who has secured place at the University of Oxford - I could not of asked for a better Politics tutor thank you for inspiring me motivating me and sharing your passion and your generosity I am eternally grateful.

This is the student, the request below was made by my dad on my behalf however, the feedback has come from me.

Since August I have been getting tutoring sessions with Stephen once a week, and at points twice a week. Stephen has helped me beyond measure with history and I couldn't think of a person better suited to tutor A Level Students. Not only does he know his stuff, he is approachable and reliable. In our sessions we mostly covered Britain in the 20th Century and Stephen's expertise in this period was outstanding; he often filled gaps in my knowledge and was on hand with quotes from relevant historians and examples to evidence in essays.

I think I should also mention that he was ready to cover periods other than Britain too, branching out as far as the East India Company and Medieval England in our sessions. In this regard, his feedback was useful, and my experience of the sessions did not change. Needless to say, Stephens support has been vital in my performance in this subject so far.

Personally, I have enjoyed our sessions and working with Stephen, which I think is in part a result of his obvious passion for the subject and his ability to crack jokes and be relatable mid-session. Therefore, I highly recommend Stephen as a tutor and am confident that your experience would be the same as mine!

Very methodical in his teaching approach but also with focus on my daughter’s needs. My daughter enjoyed the lessons and got a lot out of Stephen’s knowledge and experience with A-Levels.

My daughter has ADHD and ASD and she connected with Stephen straight away, she likes the way he tutors her and he would concentrate on the areas she was struggling to understand - even if this request was made a couple of times. Stephen was also very flexible as my daughter has lots of appointments so everything worked well - there was never any pressure. Stephen has amazing patience and is an oracle when it comes to politics - keeping very current on exam questions and the specification - over the moon with his support.

My son reluctantly agreed to be tutored and was very sceptical about tutoring. Stephen's friendly, approachable and engaging manner has helped to win my son over, and he finds the extra lesson a week very useful.
Stephen is familiar with both A Level specifications and has helped to close gaps in my son's knowledge as well as clear up any misconceptions. Stephen clearly explains concepts etc as well as provides time for exam practice and questioning. He is an excellent tutor and is professional and accommodating.

Stephen has tutored my son Jakob for his A-levels since October 2021. Jakob has now finishes his last exams with confidence and in control of his critical thinking and subject matter. Besides being highly knowledgeable, Stephen was always engaged, prepared, punctual and attentive.

Teaching is so much more than a job for him - he really gives it the personal touch and invests his own time and thought beyond the lesson. He has a wonderful calm and patient manner and has boosted my sons self belief no end as well as giving him a genuine enjoyment of the subject. Stephen has been FIRST CLASS so far - his initial emails and the zoom meeting were all very professional and he instantly connected with the academic needs of my son. Stephen is tutoring my son for A level politics. He offered a welcome meeting to overcome any initial nerves and discuss plans before teaching began which was useful. My son seems much more confident, even after only a few lessons, in his knowledge and ability to tackle some of the topics he was struggling with. I contacted Stephen when my son's history curriculum didn't seem to be shaping up incredibly well at school. Together, they have covered a lot of ground and have recently started looking at the Vietnam war. Stephen is approachable and adaptable, and eager to impart knowledge.

Stephen has tutored my son for several months leading up to his Alevel history exams. He has good subject knowledge and quickly built a strong rapport with my son, understanding how to get the best from him. I am a headteacher and so know good teaching when I see it. Stephen has only worked with Ollie for around three weeks, but given the feedback I've received from Stephen and Ollie my understanding is that they are working really well together. Ollie is totally engaged during his sessions and has nothing but praise for Stephens approach and preparation for the work units they are due to discuss. Ollie particularly likes the way Stephen formats the sessions which allows him the opportunity to debate the topic. Given how difficult it can be to find a reliable tutor who can engage with a 17yr old, I would have no hesitation in recommending Stephen.

Stephen has been absolutely brilliant for my daughter's confidence, knowledge and ability to properly articulate what she knows. He understands the subject inside out and was able to pinpoint both the topics and skills she needs to work on to do her best in the exams. Stephen has coached her on technique as well as subject matter and the one to one support has been awesome for my daughters learning. I really cannot recommend Stephen highly enough. He's done more for her as an individual in 3 months than her teachers have in 2 years.

Stephen is an excellent tutor, always responds quickly and is very reliable. He certainly helped Jamie achieve an A grade in his A-level, giving him encouragement and confidence, as well as the obvious advantage of benefitting from Stephen's deep knowledge of the subject matter. Jamie found his revision more rewarding and stimulating with the tutorial style approach. In hindsight I wish I had been aware of Stephen earlier in which case an A* may have been achievable! Well worth the investment.

Stephen is a first class tutor . He quickly grasped the issues we faced . He is highly knowledgeable and brings a sense of calm and order to the exam challenge. He established a rapport with my son both in terms of the subject but also over how he would help build confidence in tackling questions for the exam.

Steve did a fantastic job tutoring my son for his history AS resist, as well as helping him with history coursework. His grade increased from an E to an A for that module.

I'm currently studying A-Level History with Edexcel and have two exams to undertake at the end of May and June, in Germay Kaiser to Fuher 1900-1945 and Women (AS Level Resit) . Revision sessions are really helpful, Stephen is able to get more out of you and shows you how to evaluate and analyse. Very helpful gained alot of knowledge so far. Stephen is very useful and knows alot about the Kaiser to Fuher so i gain from that and also use that knowledge for my women question in evaluation
