I am a very experienced English Teacher of over 25 years. I was formerly Head of English and Senior Leader at three well schools in Hertfordshire. II am currently and examiner for AQA. I am available for English A level or GCSE tutoring on selected evenings with the possibility of extended provision during holidays, exam time etc.
I ma also able to foffer tuition in Media Studies, Film Studies and Sociology.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English across the 11 - 18 range and across all ability levels. I possess a clear, detailed and current knowledge of GCSE and A level specifications and assessment demands. I have been an examiner for both WJEC and AQA exam boards and therefore have an excellent understanding of the requirements and challenges the new specifications will present to students.

Tutoring Approach

Each student has very different needs and this is reflected in my approach to tutoring. Very rarely, if at all, do students require work on every element of their English studies. Therefore, I take a very focused approach having clearly identified the needs of each student. I take on no more than three students for private tutoring per term, allowing for a thorough and personalised service
I believe that being a qualified and active teacher is vital to examination sucess when tutoring students. Clearly, January onwards is a key time for exam preparation and I have some availability at this time, so get in touch!
