Tutoring Experience

I have spent one year at Nord Anglia Panyu School, Guangzhou, China teaching a hybrid of International Maths with Chinese National Curriculum to Middle years students. I was a grade 8 Homeroom tutor. I ran a Badminton Extra-Curricular Activity for a year. I am studying a STEM course in Intermediate Coding as part of my professional development.
Before that, I spent two years at Merchiston International School, Shenzhen, China teaching Edexel IGCSE & KS3 Maths from years 7 to 11 students and CIE IGCSE and A Level Computer Science classes. I ran a Computer Animation and Card Games Curricular Activity. I am studying a one TES Subject Knowledge Enhancement course in Secondary School Maths as part of my professional development.
I taught GCSE Foundation and Functional Skills Maths at Moulton College, Northamptonshire in 2019.
For 2 years I taught IT in a bilingual school at SCCSC (Shenzhen Concord College of Sino Canada) in Shenzhen, China which is a private boarding High School for Chinese students.
Before, I was teaching A level Maths and IGCSE ICT based in the Foreign department to high school students at Huanggang Middle School in Guangzhou, China which is a private boarding school.
Previously, I was employed at Nancic Chinese International College (NCIC) in Shenzhen, China where I have been responsible for the introduction of the ICT and Computer Studies curriculum for year 7 students and IGCSE ICT for the school. Additional responsibilities include specifying, installing and testing student and teacher software for the computer labs. I have also contributed to extracurricular and whole school activities including school sports day, upper-school field trip for science students, training of staff in report writing skills and web-conferencing for decision-based school management software.
Prior to my employment at NCIC, I was Head of ICT at Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School, West Kowloon, Hong Kong which is a private independent school. I was there for three years where my responsibilities included development of ICT across the school, day-to-day operational management of colleagues within the ICT department, securing high quality teaching for years 6 to 10 students in lower school ICT, IGCSE ICT and IGCSE Computer studies, ICT related field trips, deployment of effective use of resources to bring about the highest standards of achievement for all pupils and liaison with the school ICT team for whole school hardware and software requirements.
Prior to working in Hong Kong, I have been working as an ICT, Maths and Computer Studies teacher at Ousedale Secondary School, Buckinghamshire, England for eight years which is a UK state school. I successfully qualified as a Newly Qualified Teacher in 2003. I taught all year groups covering Computing at A level, OCR Nationals in ICT, AQA GCSE ICT for year 10 and 11, ICT at key stage 3 and Maths at key stages 3 & 4 for years 7 to 12. I also setup and taught the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) Intermediate level course and Oracle Database Design and Programming Course to post 16 year old students. I also have a successful track record teaching and passing Adult Community evening courses. I ve developed and taught Interactive Whiteboard software to whole school teaching staff development.
