Hi, my name is Stuart. I am a South African English, Politics and Philosophy graduate currently living in South London and have recently completed a PGCE through Teaching London LDBS. I have a passion for education and seeing students flourish in their chosen subjects as well as encouraging positivity and personal development. I am fully committed to my clients and look forward to working towards your academic goals together!
I have 2 years of experience in both primary and secondary schools in London which includes my time working towards a school based PGCE where I planned and delivered lessons to a range of students in two different school settings. I have also managed smaller groups as well as conducted 1-on-1 sessions within schools where children needed tailored support in certain subjects/areas and have helped these students reach their potential in areas where they were previously struggling. I have also spent time in SEN schools and completed a 4 month 1-on-1 tutoring assignment with an SEN student who needed to achieve certain objectives in order to be able to re-enroll in school. These objectives were met and exceeded and the student is currently performing fantastically at school.
From my experience in a range of school and 1-on-1 settings I have cultivated a highly adaptable approach to teaching and tutoring. I acknowledge that the curriculum a student is working within must be followed but believe that each student has a specific way in which they learn most effectively. My approach in the early stages with a client is finding the most effective and enjoyable way we can, as a team, learn and master new concepts and then move to applying these concepts to a range of different problems. I hope to have fun and challenging sessions that my clients will look forward to as much as i do!
