I am an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Teacher of Geography (Head of Department/Subject Leader) and SQA Marker, having taught the subject for 22 years at all levels and in a range of schools, both in the Independent and State sectors. I am actively teaching within Glasgow City Council and hold full GTCS registration/ PVG approval.

Tutoring Experience

I have been an SQA Marker for 15 years so understand what it takes to achieve exam success in the subject and can bring this knowledge to target specific areas of a student's understanding or exam technique, in order for them to improve. I have a proven track record of excellent SQA results (well above national average) in a range of schools at N5, Higher and Advanced Higher with previous experience teaching GCSE, AS and A-Level.

I am friendly, approachable and patient with an ability to adapt and get the best out of students of all backgrounds, support needs and abilities. If you need a certain grade for University, just require a Pass, find examinations difficult or are struggling with Assignment/Fieldwork projects, I can help! Whether you need assistance with study technique or exam practice, catching up/consolidating work due to absence, home-studying, learning a whole unit or individual topic down to an individual formation of a landscape feature, I can provide thorough and bespoke support, resources and advice on revision and exam technique. Furthermore, I can help students with map-based support, as some find this aspect challenging, especially with N5 'Land Use', Higher 'Application of Skills' and Advanced Higher 'Map Interpretation' questions.
