I've been a teacher for more than a decade. I have lots of close connections with Spain, having travelled extensively throughout the country and lived there in the past. I'm a family man with a wife and two young children. Outside of teaching my interests are playing the drums, learning the guitar (bass and acoustic), following current affairs and watching the occasional football match when time allows!
I'm a secondary school teacher with experience working in both the state sector and the independent sector. I have extensive experience teaching Spanish at KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5 and French at KS3 and KS4.
I have experience in 1-1 tutoring, conducted face to face privately to both GCSE students and adult learners.
I have extensive classroom experience teaching Spanish to a wide age range from primary school Year 4 through to A Level. Besides classroom teaching, I've enjoyed a range of additional professional responsibilities including a very successful time as the KS3 co-ordinator of French and Spanish in a large and thriving MFL department.
Students often feedback that they really appreciate my friendly, patient and good-humoured approach to teaching. Nobody is going to learn well if they're bored and aren't being challenged! I believe in using engaging teaching methods to inspire learners and I love seeing students' confidence and enjoyment of languages grow as they develop their knowledge and skills. I love teaching about Spanish culture alongside teaching the language.
