Hi, My name is Sumita Removedand I am currently at university studying a heavily maths based degree (called actuarial science). I chose this degree as I have always loved maths as a subject and I would love to help people in school improve their grades !
I have taught over 500 lessons in the past two years so I have built lots of resources and experience. I mostly have experience in tutoring gcse and alevel Maths however also have experience in teaching 11+ which I have been doing for the last 5 years!
Before I start working with a specific student, I try to ask them to go through the spec and highlight to me what topics they fine the most difficult and need the most help with so I get an idea where our time will be focused on. In my first lesson, I will give them a mini test where I can see how they answer each question, where they make mistakes and then we discuss the correct solution. Then after that in each lesson, the student can either tell me what they would like to cover (eg if they are struggling with something at school) or we can go through the list of topics that they said they found difficult. I will give them homework to consolidate their knowledge and we will go through any mistakes at the beginning of the next lesson. I have a large bank of questions and will use these to test them and give homework !
