Hi, I'm Suresh! I recently gradated from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Neuroscience.
I have a huge passion for science, especially biological sciences, and I would love the opportunity to help students reach their full potential, in terms of academic grades as well as scientific knowledge.
Through my secondary school's internal tutoring program (City of London School for boys) I tutored year 9 to year 11 students in biology, chemistry and physics, expanding their understanding and explaining difficult topics and areas in which they struggled.
I am new to online tutoring but I have an extensive knowledge of biology, GCSE and A-level exam boards specifications, and exam preparation/answering technique.
GCSE sciences and A level biology can be daunting subjects, with a large amount of content to learn and complicated concepts to understand.
It is most important to me that students learn the basis and core principles of a topic, rather than just being able to memorise answers to common questions. This ensures a solid foundation of understanding that can be continually built upon preventing gaps in knowledge from forming.
This is all the more important given that question styles (A level in particular) have shifted to a more analysis and understanding based format.
Having gone through a topic with a student I then go through past exam questions, breaking down the question to focus on what is actually being asked, to ensure that the student's understanding of the topic principle is translated to exam performance.
It is imperative that my tutees learn in a supportive and comfortable atmosphere, where they can ask whatever questions they feel are necessary, and we can work together to ensure they achieve their goal grades.
If students have specific topics in mind that they wish to cover, I can prepare sessions with these in mind. Sessions can also be tailored to specific exam boards.
If you have any questions about my tutoring services please don't hestitate to ask!
