I have been teaching for over a decade and truly believe that English is the most fantastic subject. I take great pride in my students success and I am passionate about changing my students’ mindsets around English, so that they learn to love the subject.
I am a keen reader who enjoys encouraging others to enjoy reading by finding the right book for them.

Tutoring Experience

I started teaching English at a secondary level in 2013 and I am also a qualified examiner for GCSE English for AQA . I currently teach the AQA specification but have also taught Edexcel. I specialise in Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, An Inspector Calls, Edexcel relationship poetry cluster and AQA power and conflict poetry cluster and I am familiar with a variety of the other texts for both AQA and Edexcel.

Tutoring Approach

As a classroom teacher, I pride myself on being firm but fair, instilling clear routines and providing students a calm and purposeful working environment.
My approach when tutoring is to always be calm and patient with my students and ensure that they understand what we are learning and how best to succeed.
I believe that students need to feel supported whilst also being challenged to be their best.
In order for my students to achieve the best results possible, I adapt my style to meet the needs of the students I teach.
