My name is Tara and I am a Year 6 SATs teacher and leader of maths. I am enthusiastic about helping children succeed and have experience helping children grow in maths. I like to teach children how to use written and mental methods because pace is very important in exams. Equally, I enjoy playing engaging games to help key facts stick. I am very enthusiastic about maths and can help your child enjoy the lesson and be very successful in their exams.

I have been a teacher for 3 years now and currently teach in Year 6. Additionally, I lead maths at my school.

Tutoring Approach

I like to teach children memorable ways to remember how to approach answers - this can be through rhyme or acronyms. I have found this has worked very well with the lower-attaining group I teach, whose scores have doubled. I show children quick ways to answer questions, which avoid mistakes happening. I am a fun and engaging person and I like to make my sessions as enjoyable as possible.
