Hi! Maths, chemistry, and biology tutor in the Liverpool area. I arrive on time and give a very relaxed lesson always depending on your pace, not mine. I will happily go through any given topic as many times as you want. I love teaching and I'd feel immensely proud of myself if I could instill a little bit of my passion for science in other fellow students.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring students since I was 15. I come from a highly technical background and currently doing a technically challenging scientific research job. I have had to learn and relearn many topics over the years. I have enjoyed teaching people from my school, my university, and my little cousins! I am confident that my bachelor's and master's degrees, combined with my current job, give me a vast amount of knowledge and experience to help any student.

Tutoring Approach

I firmly believe that every student is different and the first couple of lessons should be focused on understanding the student's learning style and specific needs. Once that has been established, my approach usually looks like this:

1. Explain a topic the student is struggling with
2. Quiz on the topic
3. Ask the student to teach me the topic, which for me has been the most helpful technique in learning difficult topics.
4. Solve question papers together
5. Have the student solve question papers on their own Repeat

This has been effective for me as a student as this involves a lot of active recall and spaced repetition, building the information in the student's memory. I am always one text away from my students, even outside lessons.
