I am a student at the University of York studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I have a heavy interest in Mathematics and computing, applying these skills in my university studies and teaching myself Python, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I achieved A* and A in mathematics and further mathematics respectively at A level, and a 9 in GCSE computer science.
I have experience tutoring family and friends in mathematics at both a GCSE and college level. These sessions led to the students achieving higher than predicted grades.
I like to let the student tackle problems from exam papers, helping fill the knowledge or logic gaps where needed. If they are completely lost, I like to explain by using a problem as reference, so they can understand the concepts in the context of an exam setting. When the student feels more confident, I have them teach me how to solve a problem as if I was new to the concept, to solidify the knowledge taught.
