I am 45, married, with two children aged 9 and 12. I am a children's playwright, a qualified English and Drama teacher, and I enjoy playing the piano, going to the theatre and watching sport.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a qualified teacher for 18 years, during which time I have taught English to Years 6-11 and Drama to Years 7-13. Much of my teaching experience has been with boys with mild educational difficulties, and I have specialist qualifications in dyslexia and phonics. I have tutored a range of children, boys and girls from the age of 11-18.

Tutoring Approach

I have found the best approach to tutoring to be wholly particular to the needs of the individual student, to recognise and build upon their strengths whilst addressing their weaknesses. It is also vital that each session is enjoyable and productive, boosting tutees confidence in their own abilities and desire to take ownership over their learning and progress.
