I live in Sale, Manchester, and I until recently was the Head of Chemistry at a large 6th Form College in the North West. I now work exclusively as a private tutor for A level Chemistry. I have a Ph.D in Chemistry and I have also worked in industry as a research chemist. I use this experience to ensure my tutees enjoy their lessons and achieve the grades they require.

Tutoring Experience

I have 23 year's experience of A level chemistry teaching in 6th Form Colleges, but I now work exclusively as a private tutor for A level Chemistry. I have a very detailed knowledge of both the AQA and the OCR syllabuses but I am also able to teach to the other specifications. I am an examiner for the major exam boards. I have considerable experience of 1:1 tuition and have an extensive bank of resources to aid your learning.

Tutoring Approach

I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor who aims to make our lessons fun and stimulating. I can stretch those students aiming for the highest grades, but also support those who just need to succeed. I make extensive use of exam paper practice to identify and rectify problem topics, and I believe the development of problem solving skills attention to detail are key to students achieving their potential.
