I am a highly organised, enthusiastic, passionate, and confident individual who has enjoyed the different levels of education in Engineering, Art, Design and Technology. From GCSE, through A levels, BTEC Diplomas to degree, all the way through to successfully completing a PGCE QTS teaching degree in DT.

My qualifications and experiences have enhanced my knowledge within this industry. Therefore, leading me into a new passion of mine. Which is to help coach, drive, motivate and inspire young learners to reach their full potential to improve their chances of securing their ideal future career options.

Tutoring Experience

In my full career I have worked in many secondary schools. Firstly, as a DT Technician, Teaching assistant and then a Engineering, Product Design, Graphics and Art teacher. My roles and responsibilities consisted of full time employment working one to one with AS level, KS3/4 (11-16 year olds) SEN and EAL students.

I have previously worked as a life coach and fitness instructor before my teaching career, enabling me to help improve people's lives for the better, mentally, spiritually and physically setting and working towards realistic goals and targets.

I have also had previous military experience as a ‘Territorial Army Soldier’, which has equipped me with the necessary skills, qualifications and mind set to believe that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

Tutoring Approach

The most important skill to have as a tutor or coach, is to be able to listen and understand carefully to each student and their needs, understanding that every individual is unique. I strongly feel I have a natural ability with my skills and experiences to access students facing different challenges.

Motivating and encouraging students is crucial. However, building trust and belief in them is key in their engagement and therefore learning. So together, we will identify any issues, prior knowledge, misconceptions and gaps needed as a team.
