Tutoring Experience

I have over 1000 hours tutoring experience at various levels and find it as a way to improve my own practice. I run my lessons in a style were I am happy to adapt and adjust every lesson according to the student needs. I do not believe one size fits all and the best way for a student to learn is through scaffolding and adaptive practice.
I have been teaching the AQA syllabus for 9 years but would happily teach Edexcel also. I have a pass rate of over 90% with all my GCSE Science classes.

Tutoring Approach

Over the years I have improved my skills in adapting the curriculum to suit the needs of various students dependent on their strengths and helping them build on their weaknesses to achieve their target grades. I have a persistent desire to contribute to school and student success through hard work and consistent self-development through regular CPD and mentorship programmes. I have over 8 years’ experience working in education and have extensive knowledge of the science GCSE and KS3 curriculum. In addition, graduating in an MA in Child protection has helped me become a more dynamic and passionate practitioner by giving me a more holistic view on how student well being has a great effect on their outcomes overall.
have taught GCSE to lower ability classes where students have various SEN needs so I have learnt to adapt my teaching style to suit the needs of my students.
I currently have a 90% pass rate for all my GCSE classes including students who have been predicted grade 1/2. I have successfully managed to recently support a student in achieving top marks (grade 5) in a GCSE foundation paper.
