I am a professional tutor with significant teaching experience in Economics, Finance and Business Management. I hold a PhD in Economics and a Masters Degree in Economics, Banking and Finance (with Distinction). I teach students at all levels - undergraduate and postgraduate students, students preparing to enter university and students studying for standard grades. I am interested in teaching Economics, Business Studies, and Finance (GCSE, A-Level and Degree).

Tutoring Experience

I have taught students at all levels - undergraduate and postgraduate students, students preparing to enter university and students studying for standard grades. I previously taught undergraduate Economics at the University of Glasgow and Glasgow International College between 2011-2015, and over the past 15 years, I have worked as a private tutor on several subjects including Economics and Business Studies at all levels from GCSE to Degree level.

I specialise in helping undergraduate and postgraduate degree students in business and social science subjects work through their academic essays, dissertations, research proposals, case studies, reports and presentations. University-level students have developed stronger analytical essays and improved their grades in coursework, exams and dissertations. Many students have commented on improved clarity of concepts, enhanced essay structure, and greater ability to apply theory to real-world scenarios.

Tutoring Approach

As a teacher, I believe it is absolutely crucial to create an engaging, motivating, and intellectually stimulating learning experience for my learners. In my classes, I often use a combination of teaching aids and styles that cater to different types of learners. For example, I use whiteboards and diagrams to appeal to those who learn by seeing, whilst providing verbal explanations (with real world examples) to aid more understanding. I also engage students by asking them to work through problems themselves and highlighting key points, thus, gauging their level of understanding of the topic and helping to build their confidence.
