I am a 2nd year undergraduate student at University College, Oxford studying for a BA in History. I achieved a distinction (equivalent to a first) in my first year exams at Oxford.
At university level I have studied medieval Britain, 19th century Europe and the history of the USSR. For A level history I studied the war of the roses, Germany from 1918 to 1963 and the history of Russia from 1856 to 1964 and I did my coursework on the end of the Cold War.

I am willing to help students with any historical topics and GCSE/IGCSE History papers, although I have specialized in modern European history (19th and 20th centuries).

Tutoring Experience

I am new to tutoring but have helped many of my school peers with history in the past, particularly revision and exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach

I focus on essay writing structure and technique first, and content second. Both are important for achieving a high grade at GCSE level but structure particularly for satisfying the mark scheme.
I would find it useful if students could send me any completed and marked essay they've already done prior to the first lesson so that I can give my own recommendations and feedback.
