Yasmin

I am a friendly and passionate Science teacher currently teaching the Edexcel curriculum to varied levels of students. I have over 10 years of experience working with children in various different roles. I enjoy working with pupils, building their confidence and pushing them to reach their full potential. My Science speciality is Biology and Medical Sciences, but I have always taught all three Sciences to GCSE level with great progress made by all my classes.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience teaching and tutoring AQA, and Edexcel specifications. I have 6 years of experience teaching all sciences up to GCSE level, and have tutored Biology to KS5 for 3 years with proven success. I am also a GCSE Examiner for Edexcel and AQA so am very familiar with the GCSE examining and marking process. This helps me to coach my pupils to maximise their efforts in revision.

Tutoring Approach

I have a fun and engaging approach to teaching, I enjoy finding real life applications to scientific concepts to help solidify difficult to understand ideas for students. My approach to tutoring evolves as the pupil learns, starting with developing confidence in the basics to then applying this to more difficult scientific concepts. I am able to develop confidence and exam skills to a high level, ensuring pupil success.
