Tutor with a passion for empowering students to achieve their academic goals by building their confidence and providing them with the strategies they need to succeed. 6 years of experience tutoring primary and secondary school, GCSE, and A level students in English. Also experienced in 11+ entrance exams, personal statement writing, and dissertation writing. Tutored 125+ students, helping them get the grades to gain admission into their school, sixth form/college, or university of choice, including Latymer, Eton, Channing, Highgate School, Oxbridge, UCL, KCL, and Imperial.
I have 6 years of experience working as a tutor. I began my tuition journey in 2018 as a maths and English tutor at Explore Learning where I tutored students between the ages of 4-16 in zones of up to 6 students at a time. I provided academic support to over 300 local families and delivered an excellent standard of tuition, tailoring my teaching methods to suit the learning styles of each student. During my time at Explore Learning, I independently led 11+ entrance exam classes and creative writing classes and helped over 25 students get into their secondary school of choice. In 2019, I started working as a tutor at VAKs. In this role, I taught maths and English to students from primary school to GCSE level. I independently led classes in reading and phonics, 11+ entrance exams, and GCSE English language and literature, building students' confidence and ensuring they were exam-ready. Since 2018, I have also been working as a private tutor, where I've supported over 125 students from primary school to A level in English. I've achieved a 90% success rate in getting my students into their school, college, or university of choice.
My approach to teaching is a highly personalised one. I believe that every student learns differently, so I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and empowered to ask questions and take ownership of their learning.
I start by assessing the student's current knowledge and identifying areas that need improvement. From there, I design a personalised lesson plan that aligns with your goals, whether it's mastering a specific subject, preparing for exams, or improving overall academic performance. My lessons are structured yet flexible, blending explanations, interactive activities, and practice exercises to reinforce understanding.
I prioritise building confidence as much as academic skills, encouraging students to view challenges as opportunities for growth. My teaching emphasises critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of concepts, helping students not just memorise but truly understand the material.
By fostering a positive and engaging learning experience, I aim to inspire students to achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong love of learning.
