I am a fully qualified history, politics, and philosophy teacher with 3 years experience based in Hackney/Islington
I am a masters graduate from the London School of Economics and completed my undergraduate studies at Southampton in French and philosophy. In the long term I would like to work in policy, with a focus on education and women's rights.
In terms of me in general, I love life and everything it has to offer...food is a particular love of mine. Travel, film, sport, literature are all things I can talk about for hours.
I spent 8 months teaching English in the French DOM-TOM of La Reunion where I also did private tutoring.
Since 2014, I have tutored many pupils who have achieved higher than their predicted grades including one student who received full marks in her history A-level and another full marks in her GCSE.
I am passionate about history and philosophy and I like to merge the two together when I teach. In other words I like to look at history through a philosophical framework in order to explore the various ways in which why history has taken the course it has rather than just memorising what happened, when it happened, and who did what. As such, I encourage my tutees to think big and look beyond the formulaic structure of the curriculum.
My passion for history and philosophy are infectious and I try to instil my pupils with a real sense of understanding as to why they are interesting, and why they are relevant areas of study. In my opinion, this is not only the most effective way to get the best grades, but also the most effective means to stimulate lateral thinking in the long run which in turn leads to successful members of society.
In short I think education is the single most effective tool for building a prosperous future for humanity and I try to embody this mantra when I teach.
