My name is Dr Alice Siberry and I am a Specialist Neurodiversity Consultant. I have received a first class BA (Hons) in Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring (2016) and a merit in MSc in Psychology (2017), before completing my PhD in Criminology at the University of Sheffield in 2021.

Tutoring Experience

I taught undergraduates at the University of Sheffield and York St John University for 5 years. My favourite teaching experience was being a dissertation supervisor and all of my dissertation students went on to receive high 2:1s or firsts. I have 3 years of tutoring experience and have had extremely positive experiences with all my tutees.

In addition to this, I have over 10 years experience of working in the neurodiversity and disability space. As a neurodivergent person myself, I have learnt about different ways to support learners in a very bespoke, individual and personal manner.

As part of my tutoring practice, I can support you with:

  • University level Psychology, Sociology or Criminology
  • University level study / essay writing skills
  • Dissertations or Theses.

Tutoring Approach

University can be extremely daunting but I like to think I bring a calming, inspirational perspective to my teaching. As someone who almost didn't go to university, and has now completed three degrees, including a PhD, I found ways to overcome challenges in my workload, which I hope to pass on to others who may be experiencing similar worries, stresses or doubts about their ability.

Having cared for my disabled brother my whole life, and later learning about my own differences, I understand the importance of all support being person-centred and needs-led and I like to break things down to the person's level of understanding in order to allow them to build confidence and knowledge in what they are learning so that they can reach their full potential in a less pressurised way.

I can also provide knowledge about neurodiversity-related support available both within university and how a neurodivergent student themselves might be able to get the best out of their brains.
