Since school I have had a passion for all things science and technology. This lead me to complete two degrees (BSc Hons and MSc) in Chemistry, followed by a job which marries both lab science and technology.
I enjoy the problem solving, the research involved and the presentation of results or the deployment of a solution.
During university I had the opportunity of tutoring a collage student in Biochemistry, who went onto successfully graduating.
My approach to tutoring depends on the student. However normally I would plan the session before hand, inform the student of what will be covered and ensure that all the material is ready to go.
The material that I would cover would tie into the course that the student is undertaking and if required I can focus on a particular topic that the student maybe experiencing difficulties with.
Communication is certainly key when planning each session to ensure that both the tutor and student are working at their best.
